Hastine Info | Watch Wild Trailer for Warren Beattys First Movie in 18 Years

Warren Beattys long-in-the-works movie about Howard Hughes, Rules Dont Apply, has been given its first star-studded trailer.

The upbeat clip blends historical fiction and rom-com (la WoodyAllensrecent films)and finds Beatty playing the obsessive-compulsive mogul as an eccentric billionaire goofball a far cry from Leonardo DiCaprios portrayal of Hughes inMartin Scorseses 2004 biopic, The Aviator.

While Beatty scores several laugh lines in the trailer (Billionaire, goddammit, not millionaire, he grumbles while watching footage of himself, and what the hell happened to the close-up of me in the cockpit?), the main focus is the love story between theaspiring, Hughes-contracted actress Marla Mabrey (Lily Collins) and her driver, Frank Forbes (Alden Ehrenreich).

Amidst their budding romance, the couple must navigateold-Hollywood glamour and excess, their own religious backgrounds, company policyforbidding employees todateand the sudden involvement of Hughes to create a ridiculous love triangle.

Beatty wrote and directed Rules Dont Apply, his first movie since 1998s Bulworth(he also hasnt appeared in a feature film since 2001s Town and Country). Rules Dont Apply also stars Matthew Broderick, Alec Baldwin, Haley Bennett, Annette Bening, Martin Sheen, Steve Coogan, Ed Harris, Candice Bergen and Oliver Platt. The film has yet to be given a release date, but is expected to open this year.
